New contracts and full order books for a leading Shropshire glazing company have come at a perfect time for two county workers.
Steve Griffiths and Danny Beesty, both of Shrewsbury, had just been made redundant after many years service for a regional housing association, but have now been employed by the Heritage Glass Group of Monkmoor, in Shrewsbury.
The pair have been joined by Jamie Winter, of Reabrook, who has several years experience in window manufacture and will now be trained as a fitting technician and eventually enrolled into the team.
General manager Paul Hotchkiss, said: “We have had an unprecedented increase in orders so it is good that we can increase our staff to coincide with the growth of the company.
“Steve and Danny are both highly experienced multi-trade operatives and I believe they will be a real asset to the firm in dealing with this increased workload as the company expands, and we are therefore pleased to take them on.”
Steve Griffiths, who has worked in the industry for over two decades, added: “I am now over 50 years of age and to be made redundant at this stage in life can prove to be very traumatic as it is sometimes difficult to get another job in the same trade, so I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join the team here at Heritage Glass.”
Heritage Glass lists the Ministry of Defence, Shropshire Council, several public and private schools and Link 51 in Telford amongst its customers, and can be contacted on 01743 249243.
